Isabel Mortimer: "My Great Uncle Alfred is the tent to whom the Duke of Marlborough addressed the letter to in my possession, he was a very popular man, and the Duke of Wellington (whose letter you will find amongst my treasures) was even more friendly, with him than the Marlborough's were. He was frequently seen driving with the Duke of Wellington."
