Although born in New Zealand, William and his brother Harry, went to Australia. Will trained as a mining engineer at Zeehan School of Mines, Tasmania. He was married there and four of his five children were born in Tasmania. After the death of his eldest son and the decline of the mines, the family moved to Western Australia and lived in various mining towns, such as Cue. Finally they settled in Greenbushes, where Will joined up during World War 1 aged 44 years.His nephew Major George MAYNE (son of James and Ada) was killed at Gallipoli and he (William) thought the family should be represented. He was in No. 2 section of No. 3 Tunnelling Corps, and was killed on the outskirts of Hershin, on the Somme. He is commemorated on the Hersin Communal Cemetery Extension ,Plate No. 27, and on the Roll of Honour in the Australian Memorial War Museum, Canberra.

This child Heinrich, is Johannes Heinrich Christaf Wilhelm Webse.

Carl Webse died 7 December 1864, three days after he arrived in Australia. He died at Kapunda, South Australia, so Heinrich was an only child. His mother remarried on 23 October 1867 to Johann Gottlab Gutsche.

Butter manufacturer and exporter, temperance campaigner, benefactor.

Wesley Spragg was born on 13 February 1848 at Madeley, Shropshire, England, the son of Mary Hill and her husband, Charles Spragg, a blacksmith. He was educated at the Wesleyan school in Madeley, and emigrated to New Zealand with his family on the 'Ulcoats', arriving at Auckland on 22 January 1864.

Of the first 20 years of Spragg's life in New Zealand little is known. He is said to have spent some time on the Thames goldfields. His interest in the dairy industry began in Auckland in 1883 or 1884, when he was in charge of the butter department of the New Zealand Frozen Meat and Storage Company.

Memorial inscription at Queen Street Methodist Chapel, Morley, Leeds reads:

"Sacred to the memory of William DEARNLEY, son of William and Hannah DEARNLEY of Leeds who died July 29th 1846 aged 16 years.
Also Hannah, the beloved wife of William DEARNLEY and mother of the above of Boston Spa, late of Leeds, who died September 23rd 1852 aged 57 years.
Also William DEARNLEY husband of the above-named Hannah DEARNLEY of Boston Spa, who died July 26th 1854 aged 52 years."

When William Dearnley purchased land in Morley for his daughter Maria he is described on the documents as 'joiner and cabinet maker'. On other documents he is described as 'gentleman'. On his christening document he is descrived as the 'son of a gentleman'.
