| Notes |
- Elvira was working as a governess at the settlement on the Eyre telegraph line when she met Ben Roberts who was working as a linesman there.
After Ben's death, Vi had a difficult time, with two small children to rear. Ben's father had just died, leaving Isabella with problems of her own. Vi lived in Hare street, Albany, for a while, and the community held various functions to pay off her house. For some time she lived in Mount Lawley, then back in Albany. She seems to have worked as a post mistress from the time Ben first enlisted. At the time of her second marriage, she was post mistress at Boyup Brook.
