| Notes |
- Stanley attended Riccarton School and then enrolled at Akaroa on 5 Mar 1894. He moved to Ashburton School in 1899.
Stan worked as an unlicenced sharebroker for the firm of J. S. McArthur in Auckland. They had a share trust business with bases in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. Stan became familiar with business opportunities in these cities and bought a half share of the Bateman Estate in, what is now, the Mt Pleasant area of Perth. He eventually bought out his partner. His son, Laurie, was not trained in any business field but worked with his father in his early career.
