  Sarah was 22 when she was married. Sarah's daughter Amelia described her mother as "beautiful, with lovely auburn hair and a fine singing voice". There is a story in the Crump family that Sarah confided to her daughter Amy that she was saddened towards the end of her life to discover that her husband, Joseph Henry, had a lady friend.
