  In the 1841 census, at Wenlock, Marnwood House, there appears a record of Mary Hill, aged 25, occupation listed as a female servant. The Reverend John Bartlett, owner of Marnwood House, was married to Susannah Ball, granddaugher of Abraham Darby, founder of Ironbridge. Mary married Charles Spragg in 1842 and the family emigrated to New Zealand.
