  [Notes by Norman Manson - 1992] The second son in age, aftera sharp argument with his father relative to hours at whichhe had to return to the family home after an evening out'on the town', came home late one evening to find himselflocked out, and the rest of the family dared not admit himagainst their father's wishes. Robert, accordingly, turnedround, returned to Thurso, where he staved overnight withfriends. Later the next day, he was shipped out to India,where he died on active dutv.
